The name of the game come competition time, especially with so many players having a high density of games, is to find a healthy balance of inputs and outputs to make sure you're recovering and optimizing your performance come game day.
This is a 2 block 8 week program for that post mid-szn break grind ...but can be put on repeat for the length of the season.
The program includes a 2 week GPP block that is desinged to get you back to square one, work on any imbalances, and dose a bit of strength, speed, and hypertrophy to prep the body for the long 2nd half of the season or best used as a 2 week prep ahead of the season.
Following the GPP block you'll go directly into a 6 week in-season block that focuses on the concurrent development of speed, power, and strength whilst still working on hypertrophy, core strength, and mobility. Let's face it, like all good programs, it has everything you need without overdoing it and without going two steps forward and one step back.
Because not all leagues and players are created equal, this program is a 3-5 day optional package. Whereby if you complete 3 lifts per week or decide to add the Speed, agility, quickness & conditioning session you'll make significant progress one way or another. Neither is better then the other, it's simply a what can you deal with based on your schedule, deal.
Based off of what I've seen to work best with elite level hockey players over the past 7 years, this is an amalgamation of learnt lessons that have lead to a lot of top prospects having their best final stretch in years.
