Anticipate, Understand, and Embrace.
Tip #1: Anticipate. You have to anticipate that stress will pop up at some point in your life. Whether it be stressing over a test or finding your next meal there is a great discrepancy and volume of stress based moments throughout one's life.
Anticipating the likelihood of stress' involvement in your daily life and inevitably your decision making process will allow you to diminish the potential negatives associated with it. Anticipation is the first step to realization. Tip# 2: Understand what and how stress effects you. Understand what triggers your stress and how to 'settle your nerves". By charting out your triggers or involuntary stress related reaction to certain stimuli, say a busy street with rushing traffic while driving, or putting 10 lbs on the bar over your PR, you can design a personalized template as to which areas of your life you should limit interaction. Not saying you should avoid it, that's the opposite of my next point actually, but having an idea of where things might go "wrong" gives you a head start on tackling the situation. Tip #3: Embrace. Just know stress is a part of life and that you will, at one point or another, have to deal with it. Embrace what stresses you out, embrace how and why it stresses you out, and embrace the moments of resolve. Face stress head on and be the force to get through it rather than letting stress dictate your outcome. By tackling these three tips we can all manage stress effectively. Anticipating, understanding, and embracing will lead you down a path that'll be the catalyst to eliminating a lot of stress in your life. Becoming aware and understanding the effects and potential positive outcomes of stressful situations will deliver a breadth of new enjoyment. Stay safe, stay active, and don't stress :) Enjoy!
