New Year, New Challenges...

If I were to give one tip to everyone moving forward into the new year it would be to take a seat for 5 mins, write down your goals and aspirations, and determine what habits you need to form in order to achieve said goals and aspirations. Habits form the avenue to success. Without a road to your destination, how can you expect to move forward?

Habits come from routine, routine comes from consistency. Consistency breeds discipline. Discipline enforces the right kind of selfishness that allows you to block out the unnecessary stressors and distractions to reach your intended outcome. To form a habit start small. Don't expect to get up at 4:30am answer all your emails, workout, and make your food for the day all in the first week (that is, if thats what you want to do). Start with something simple, like making your bed. I've found the most productive days i've had always start with the making of my bed, drinking a cup of water, and getting one small task completed before checking my phone, working, or even exercising.

So my challenge to you is to take that 5 minutes and write down 5 goals you want to reach in 2022, and determine the habits needed to assure the success of these goals.

With that I wish to share a few of my more global aspirations for the year.

Goal 1) Expand my knowledge as a Strength and Conditioning coach.

Habit change / solution:

a) Applying to a Master's degree in the field of Strength and Conditioning

b) Make a habit to read the literature and apply the science

Goal 2) Grow the reach of my business

Habit change / solution:

a) Reduce my distractions and use my time effectively by reducing time spent on social media

b) Set aside 1 hour daily to improve the image of my brand

Goal 3) Make it to the second stage of the CrossFit games season

Habit change / solution:

a) Adhere to the program set for me

b) Dial in nutrition: Find flexible diet that helps me reach my goals firstly and I enjoy eating secondly.

Goal 4) Isolate my distinguishable way of training. My methodology, my brand, my way of coaching.

Habit change / solution:

a) Being open to different training methodologies

b) Read, write, listen, and apply

Goal 5) Have the opportunity to be financially independent with my company

Habit change / solution:

a) Offer a service that creates trust, safety, and provides undeniable results

b) Invest more time into my clients

It's as simple as that. Determine end goal, enact a few small habits or solutions and from there you build your pathway to your end destination. You know the path is 365 bricks in length. Some bricks will take no effort to lay and cement, while others may require a little extra elbow grease. At the end of the day, all the bricks must be laid, and you're the only brick layer. How you went about putting foot to path once the road is built is entirely up to you.

The last 2 years have been interesting ones to say the least. Though the covid pandemic has been dealt with in variable ways around the globe, it is still fair to say that the impact it continues to resinate is one for the history books. It will continue to ring on for some time until the virus is completely dealt with, if it ever will be. But this doesn't stop us from moving forward and determining our own futures. Develop an understanding of your personal mission and what steps it'll take to reach your goals and aspirations. How, who, and where do you want to be in a year from now? Only you can decide that.

Happy New Year everyone! can't wait to see what this year brings!
