The Athletic Development Day-Camp will take place in August providing the opportunity for two age groups to take part in a weeklong camp where each participant will learn the essentials of training, eating, and recovering like an athlete. The camp will operate between 9am -11:30am and 12:30-3:00pm Monday - Saturday. Each day will have a specific emphasis of sports performance training. Each day will consist of classroom, field, and weight-room sessions based on the day's focus. Athlete's will learn first-hand how to conduct themselves in the weight-room, on the field, and pre/post sessions.
Topics covered include:
Speed, Agility, and Quickness development
Power development
Principles of strength development
Hypertrophy training for athletes
Nutrition for athletes
Recovery for athletes
Athletes are expected to bring suitable attire, footwear, and water bottles. Lifting shoes, belts, and accessories are not expected but can be brought as well.
Lunch will not be provided on site, but the town, Lennoxville, hosts a handful of accessible restaurants (Lebanese, Subway, Pizzeria etc.) and a grocery store where food can be purchased. Athletes are welcomed to stay on site and eat as well. A pizza party will take place on the last day after morning testing!
Upon completion of the camp, all attendees will be provided a full off-season training program, nutrition resources, and a review packet of all major concepts covered.
