The following text may frustrate some folks...
App #1: The clock app.
Yes, the one on your home screen! This wonderful app allows you to set a bedtime notification urging you to wind down and relax before bed, limit screen time, and get to bed at a reasonable time. It also gives you this sweet feature of setting a single alarm to wake you up at a decent hour. Better yet, if you play around with the bedtime feature you can set a bedtime cycle leaving all the work up to the phone. Free and it helps build habits.
App #2: The reminder App
Set reminders and add annoying alarms etc. to keep you accountable and ticking all the boxes each and every day. Nothing like an annoying reminder popping up to tell you to get your butt in gear to create better habits.
App #3: The camera App.
Another one you don't have to venture far for. Use the camera to track your process week to week. Take photos every Sunday morning after using the washroom and before eating. This will give you an accurate depiction of your progress.
App# 4: MyFitnessPal
This is a great app to teach you very quickly the discrepancies in our perception of serving sizes and their actual size. MyFitnessPal is a calorie tracking app that is so easy to use. Just scan your food and go! Set your calories based on your goal, use the integrated calorie calculator, or head to my blog post (2 back) and use the info provided to find your personal macros/calories.
Bonus App #5: Phone app
Get on that bad boy and text 819-679-8253! I'll be free to chat about building a program! Getting a coach makes everything so much easier, a step I wish I took much sooner!
Let me know if you learnt anything!
